About

Days Of The Year aims to bring all of the world’s weird, funny, wonderful and bizarre holidays under one roof, and to create the ultimate guide to celebrating each and every day. The website was initially created by Jono Alderson as a small hobby project in 2009, but rapidly became a much larger and more serious endeavour as he realised the scope of the task, and the potential to create something very special indeed.

The site is developed, run and managed by volunteers, and without any financial investment whatsoever (other than the upkeep of web hosting, and the vast number of hours given by the team and their friends).

The site in its current format soft-launched in early 2010, and is still in the early days of its life and potential – we’ve plans to continue to develop the site, add tons of new features, and to become bigger and better!

The Team

Jono Alderson - Founder, Manager & Web Developer

Days Of The Year is the brainchild of Jono Alderson. By day, Jono is a digital marketing manager and consultant specialising in SEO and data analysis; by night he spends his time working 'under the hood' on daysoftheyear.com, researching weird celebrations for the site, and generally steering the ship.
