And like that August was gone! I don’t know about you but 2019 seems to be flying past. What do you think? I know that it means that summer is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop celebrating.

I tried to celebrate as many as I could and as always I have loved seeing how you guys, our followers, have played along with some of the Days.

Watermelon day

There are so many different ways that you can use a watermelon. If you weren’t sure what to do on the day here is some inspiration for next year. I, however, I love to just have it as is!

With the weather being on the warm side a nice cool watermelon will always do the trick. Another great way to use it is to cut it up into squares and then freeze it and then use it as ice cubes in lemonade is another great way to use it.

International Cat Day

I knew you guys would not disappoint on sharing your cat photos! There are some serious cuties out there! But first I am going to share a photo of my cat Patch.

I’m not sure of his breed as we adopted him from a friend who did not have a lot of info about him but he is 10 years old and we have our own little language and understanding. Plus he sits and gives paw, yes I trained him like a dog…..

Here are a few photos that you shared with us over on the Facebook Page.

Check the chip day

This is something that a lot of people forget to do. And it’s not just checking that the ship is still working but also updating the information that is on the chip as well.

There are so many animals that are chipped but the information has not been updated that a lot of them tend to go to rescue centers because their owners can be tracked down.

It only takes a few minutes to head to the vet to make sure that the chip is still working and that the information is all up to date, because if you move house but don’t update you may end up losing your friend!

Potato Day

Hands up if carbs are your friend? *hands up* Oh good not just me. I love potatoes they are such I versatile vegetable. From the classic mashed to the fancy Gnocchi. You can go wrong with them!

And as the great Samwise Gamgee once said:

Boil them, mash them, stick them in a stew. Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish.

Samwise Gamgee

They can be used in a whole host of ways and each variety of potato is best suited for certain styles of cooking as well. For example Mash, you have got to use Maris pipers because they just give the best fluffy results. Baked potatoes, has to be the King Edward variety!

I could talk for ages about potatoes, I really could but I may go on a while. One of my favorite ways to have them is potato salad! There is a variety of ways that you can make this and I think everyone has there own style of salads.

I like mine quite lemony so I make it the day before and put a lot of lemon juice in it so that it sites overnight! Mine also always have a lot of black pepper in them. Mmmmm

Burger Day

There is nothing like a good excuse to have a burger whether it is meat or plant-based. Personally, I love having a go at making my own with a gooey cheese center!

If you weren’t up for making your own you could always have headed to your local burger joint. That’s what I did! I couldn’t make my mind up between beef or chicken!?

As you can see I got the beef burger. I have been trying to eat less meat so when I do have some I enjoy it more. I can’t wait for Vegetable Day and getting a load of recipes from you guys!

Dog Day

Like Cat Day, Dog Day is where you lot shine! I grew up with dogs, which explains why I trained poor Patch like a dog. I have always and will always be easily distracted by dogs. Which is why I have one of these t-shirts.

Anyway, I wanted to share a photo of one of my friend’s dogs. This is Stephen. He likes Guinness and hugs. He is a super softy and loves attention.

Don’t worry I have a few photos from our Facebook page to share with you as well. I love seeing all your furbabies!
