Well, March has certainly been a month! I don’t know about you, but I have needed to embrace the celebrations more than ever! But even with the way the world is at the moment, you can still celebrate the little things in life, and March has plenty to celebrate!
I love books! I am an avid reader and rereader; if I find an excellent book that stays with me, then it will get reread a few times because I love the characters so much! You know what I mean those stories that stay with you regardless. The books that change the way that you think about the world around you, I’m looking at you, Terry Schott!
I have always had a book in my hand from a very young age, and when my sister had her first child, I got the chance to look after her a lot, and I read to her silly little books that I hope will help her become a reader!
This World Book Day, she dressed up as Alice from wonderland, which I loved as I am hoping that when she gets to read that she will see what a great character that is!
There is nothing better than have a legitimate reason to blame someone else for 24hours! The first Friday the 13th of the year gives us just that! For 24 hours, is it not your fault it is someone else! Well, unless you are getting the blame from someone else.
Who would have thought that being in denial can be a cause for celebration? And celebrate you shall: play a classic whodunit role-play game with friends and see who breaks down in tears first, invite your family over, spike their drinks and blame the granny, loosen the screws on everyone’s chairs and blame the children, pour chocolate mousse in people’s shoes and blame the dog… the possibilities are endless!
I love butterflies! One thing I try to do every year is to build a butterfly flower bed so that I can sit in the garden and watch them flutter about. Creating a butterfly garden is simple and easy to do, and it’s something that you can do with your little ones as well to help them learn about butterflies.
One of the best ways to attract butterflies to your yard is to plant nectar-producing flowers that have red, yellow, orange, pink, or purple blossoms. Plant them in a sunny spot in a group, so they grow in clusters.
This one is a bit of a no-brainer. If you want to participate in No-Selfie Day, all you have to do is NOT join in taking selfies! Set yourself free from judging yourself by the cameras’ eye and the approval of your peers through meaningless likes and comments on social media by simply choosing not to participate in it.
The entire concept of no-selfie day is to start living your life and being in the moment, rather than trying to capture and edit it. It’s not something that I do on the regular, so this was an easy one for me!
Harry Potter fans around this world each have their day in March. So, no matter which house you belong to, you have your day to celebrate your unique traits. If, like me, you are in the least popular house, then it’s time to stick together and take over the world! Or the tv remote!
If you’re fortunate enough to have a Slytherin in your life, make sure that you show them the respect they’re due and know that when they seem to be doing something outright pointless, it’s likely all falling into some greater plan.
Take this day to explore the variety that the world of the waffle has to offer you. Tuck into American waffles topped with fried chicken or stacked and drenched in sugary maple syrup for breakfast. Enjoy a Brussels or Liège Belgian waffle dusted with confectioner’s sugar or coated in chocolate or cream.
Alternatively, travel east and sample a soft and sweet Hong Kong waffle laced with the flavors of peanut butter or honey melon. We could waffle on forever…
As we get towards the end of the month and with the current situation, there is still a lot to celebrate, and Crayola Crayon Day is a great day to embrace the color and get to creating such fun drawings.
There is so much to celebrate, and with the current situation. There is still a lot that you can do while staying at home and protecting those around you! You need to get creative!
