Since the release of the iPhone, people have said that paper is dead and that everyone will be organizing their life via a multitude of apps. Well, 10 years on and notebooks are going stronger than ever! There is just something about a putting pen to paper and writing out your day or your to-do list or simply taking notes in a meeting. There are a plethora of different types out there. I’m going to share a few of my favorite ones that you can get your hands on.
Notebook Day was founded last year by May Designs and they are first on my list. With three different sizes to choose from and loads of cover choices and the option to personalize you really can make this notebook your own. But it’s not just the outside you can personalize, on the inside you have a choice of lined, dot grid, graph, agenda, wedding planner, daily journal, address book. The options are astounding! You really are spoilt for choice.
Maybe the Maybook has too many options maybe you prefer to have a few options but a variety of cover colors. Then the Leuchtturm 1917 notebook might be the one for you. This notebook has grown in popularity over the past few years and is very popular for the organization trend of Bullet Journaling. With a built-in index and pages already numbers this notebook lends itself to bullet journaling. This is also a highly recommended notebook if you like to take notes in fountain pen.
Looking for something a bit cheaper but still got that luxury touch? Why not have a look at Rhodia notebooks, these are a great alternative to the Leuchtturm notebook though they do not share the same features. The paper will stand up to fountain pens and brush pens. They come in a variety of sizes and lined width as well as a dot grid options. These are not as popular as the others but still a great notebook.
My personal favorite is the Scribbles that Matter notebook! Amazing paper quality and with a built-in index, numbered dot grid pages, attached pen loop, pen test page (no longer needing to sacrifice a page in the back) and a pocket in the back, why wouldn’t you use this beautiful notebook. The paper is hard wearing as well, as not a lot bleeds through this so you can use it for everyday notes or for a more creative journal, but whatever you use this for its going to hold all your notes with an elastic band around it.
Maybe you prefer a more basic approach to your list making and less sentimental about your notebooks. A good old narrow ruled jot pad might be the way to go for you and there is nothing like a fresh notepad to go into a meeting ready to take notes.
Whatever notebook takes your fancy be sure to crack open a new one today and let those idea flow!
