Kevin Wayne Durant, also known by his initials KD, is a sensational sports personality in basketball. Born on September 9th, 1988, Kevin has built a successful career in professional basketball, having been recognized as one of the world’s best players.

Growing up, Durant was tall compared to his peers; he was 6 feet at 13 years old! His love for basketball grew at this age, and he dreamed of playing for the Toronto Raptors, his favorite team. Kevin played basketball in high school and was the second most sought-after player.

He later joined the University of Texas and played for the Texas Longhorns for one season. Kevin signed with the Seattle SuperSonics as a professional player in 2007. The Sonics later changed their brand name to Thunder, with Kevin playing in his first all-star game in 2009. Durant extended his contract with the Thunder, worth $86 million, for another five years. He played his first NBA final games from 2010 to 2012.

In the MVP season of 2013/14, Kevin beat Michael Jordan’s scoring record and won the most coveted award, the NBA’s most valuable player. Durant signed a two-year contract in July 2016 worth $56 million with the Golden Gate Warriors. He played exceptionally well despite a few injuries, winning his second MVP finals award. Kevin signed another contract in July 2019 with the Brooklyn Nets; he could not play for a year due to ill health but bounced back in 2021.

Durant was the second-best player in his class and the SuperSonics in the 2007 NBA draft. Kevin also played for the Seattle SuperSonics for nine seasons and was named the greatest player of all time. He was the first freshman to win the national player of the year award, among other prestigious awards. While in college, Durant won all the prestigious awards in a single year.

Kevin Durant is known for his great scoring skills as well as his love of basketball. He is one of the only two players to win four scoring titles in five years. Durant has been selected ten times to play in the NBA.
