
Marla Maples' birthday
American actress, model, singer and TV personality Marla Ann Maples was born on October 27th, 1963, in Cohutta, Georgia. After her high school graduation in 1981, Maples went on to compete in beauty contests and pageants. She won the Miss Resaca Beach Poster Girl Contest in 1983, and a year later she came in second to Miss Georgia USA. In 1985, Marla was crowned as Miss Hawaiian Tropic.
Although some might remember her due to her relationship with businessman Donald Trump at the beginning of the 1990s, Marla has also had an extensive television and film career. She made her big screen debut in 1986, playing a minor role in comedy horror film Maximum Overdrive, followed by 1987’s Funland. She made her TV debut in an 1989 episode of the soap opera Dallas. Maples guest-starred in several shows throughout the ‘90s, both in character and as herself, such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (with her then husband, Donald Trump,) Something Wilder, Clueless, Spin City, and The Nanny (as herself.) She also did a number of television films at this time, most notably: The Christmas List (1997,) Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish (1998,) and Two of Hearts (1999.)
Other ventures included joining the cast of Broadway musical The Will Rogers Follies in 1992, and co-hosting the Miss Universe Pageant (1996 and 1997 editions) as well as 1997’s Miss USA Pageant. Almost two decades later, Marla returned to theater to appear in an off-Broadway production Love, Loss and What I Wore, in 2012. In 2016, Maples participated as the celebrity contestant in season 22 of Dancing with the Stars, being the third pair to be eliminated from the show. That same year, Marla became a guest co-host on ABC’s morning talk show, The View. Other film appearances are Loving Annabelle (2006,) A Nanny for Christmas (2010,) Switching Lanes (2015,) and most recently, she can be seen in crime thriller The Birthday Cake (2021.)
