History of National Engineers Week

National Engineers Week has been celebrated for many years now, and rightly so! After all, the world would not be as we know it today if it was not for the incredible minds of engineers. The event first began in 1951, and it was started by the National Society of Professional Engineers.

The week was selected because it falls in line with the birthday of former President George Washington. Why President Washington, though? Well, he was considered the first engineer of the United States, especially for his survey work. Therefore, you may want to honor National Engineers Week by delving deeper into George Washington’s engineering work.
