Alien day is an awesome day to recognize and appreciate the fantastic world of the Alien(s) franchise. It is a great day for a film marathon or to read some of the many books or graphic novels in the franchise. I personally love that the date choice itself holds meaning: 4/26 refers to the designation of the moon in the 1st film: LV-426. I hope you will choose to include this day so more people can learn about this great day and celebrate the wonderful world of Alien(s).
Following in the footsteps of “Back to the Future Day” on October 21st, and the previously announced by still upcoming “Ferris Fest” on the weekend of May 20th, Tuesday, April 26th, has been dubbed “Alien Day.” The date (4-26) is a nod to LV-426, the moon where the xenomorphs are discovered in the 1979 film from Ridley Scott.
The second event, officially titled Alien Day and run by 20th Century Fox, was held on April 26, 2016. Similarly to the previous event, it was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of Alien’s sequel, Aliens. However, rather than taking place on the exact day of Aliens’ release, the date was instead a reference to the planetoid on which the film is set — 4/26/16, LV-426.
