History of Astrology Day
In 1993, a group called the Association for Astrological Networking, or AFAN, created International Astrology Day. They wanted a special time each year to focus on the positive side of astrology. Their aim was simple—bring people together and spark new interest in the stars and planets.
They picked a day that matches the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. That’s when the Sun enters Aries, the first sign in the zodiac.
This moment marks the start of the astrological year. For astrologers, it signals fresh energy, new ideas, and bold beginnings.
AFAN hoped to create more awareness and community. They encouraged events, talks, and gatherings around the world. People could share ideas, learn from each other, and explore what astrology means in today’s world.
Since its start, Astrology Day has grown. Now, many enjoy it by looking into birth charts, learning about star signs, or just gazing at the sky.
While science may question astrology, its cultural and personal meaning continues to reach people in many different ways. Each year, the celebration keeps that spark alive.
