Love Island Day
Usher in the new season of UK’s hit romantic reality series Love Island in style. Gather friends, host a viewing party, and brace yourself for drama galore.
For fans of ITV2’s hit show Love Island, the time in between the end of the series and the start of the next one is filled with countdowns and anticipation. When the new season starts, it’s now become known as Love Island Day, a time of celebration when the countdowns are over and the summer of excitement can begin all over again.
Love Island is officially the most-watched show that ITV2 has ever aired and one of the most popular reality TV shows in the UK and beyond right now. So, perhaps it’s no surprise that fans want an entire day to be dedicated to the show and its re-arrival at the start of June each year.
Love Island Day is about celebrating the fact that Love Island has returned to the airwaves. And let’s face it; those first episodes are always the most exciting as we’re introduced to a new raft of contestants and see the alliances and rivalries that will define the series begin to take shape.
The show is now immensely popular with brand deals, merchandise and a massive following. Having a day on which to celebrate that popularity is clearly important to a lot of people.
History of Love Island Day
Love Island has been around for 4 years and it has steadily grown in popularity since then. Love Island Day is a new phenomenon but the community that has built this day has been in place for a while now, and people already throw parties and celebrate the arrival of a new series.
The creation of Love Island Day is about making more of those celebrations and allowing the Love Island fan community to make the most of the new series launch each year.
How to celebrate Love Island Day
So, how should you celebrate Love Island Day? Well, the most obvious thing you can do is watch Love Island. After all, the entire point of the day is that it happens on the day when Love Island’s new series starts. You wouldn’t be much of a Love Island fan if you forgot to sit down and watch it.
But you can go further than that, of course. You should forget to wish your friends, family and fellow fans of the series a Happy Love Island Day. It might also act as a reminder to them that they too need to find time to watch the series launch later that evening!
A lot of fans also celebrate Love Island Day by hosting a Love Island-themed party in which they get together with friends and family and have a party, incorporating the watching of that first episode as well too, of course.
Love Island Day is as much about its community of fans as it is about the ITV2 show itself. People love the show, of course, but the community that’s developed on social media and in real life is a big part of what people love about Love Island now.
