While many people believe that happiness is a fleeting thing, Hunt for Happiness Week acts as a reminder that while happiness can take place under almost any circumstances, it might take a little bit of effort to get there!

How to Celebrate Hunt for Happiness Week

Take a look at some interesting ideas that invite anyone and everyone to go on the Hunt for Happiness, during this important week and all throughout the year:

Be Happy!

Simple but also complex, the first order of business during Hunt for Happiness Week is to simply do things that bring happiness. Sing more. Smile a lot. Pursue personal growth.

Give to someone in need and generally put into practice things that can make a person truly feel happy from the heart! The benefits of happiness are remarkable.

Go on the Hunt for Happiness

Of course, one of the most important things to put on the to-do list during Hunt for Happiness Week is for each person to consider what happiness looks like for them. After all, happiness is a subjective goal!

Take some time to take stock of what dreams of happiness look like, whether this includes journaling, spending time meditating, processing with a life coach or some other way of recognizing the signs of happiness. Then start moving in that direction.

Read Books About the Hunt for Happiness

Sure, romance novels and other such stories contain fictional ideals of what happiness might be like, but true and real-life happiness are measured a bit differently.

Spend some time with authors and experts to learn a bit more about what happiness might really mean in honor of Hunt for Happiness Week.

History of Hunt for Happiness Week

Hunt for Happiness Week has been celebrated annually for more than two decades, after it was founded in 2001 by the folks over at The Society of Happy People (SOHP).

The founder of the SOHP, Pamela Gail Johnson, is not only a professional coach and speaker, but she is also the author of the book, Practical Happiness: Four Principles to Improve Your Life.

The hope behind Hunt for Happiness Week is to encourage people at the beginning of each new calendar year to consider what happiness means to them. Then, they can follow it up by going about making a plan to implement different ways of pursuing that happiness!

Other events founded by the same society include National Happiness Happens Day on August 8, along with Happiness Happens Month, which takes place during the entire month of August.
