Ah, the month of love! Well for me it was more like the month of food! And I do love food! I have enjoyed doing a few different types of foods this month and I have also tried a few new to me recipes!
I love exploring different types of foods and there is nothing wrong with eating a few old favorites! With everything from sweet to savoury, I had a lot of different foods this month!
Being a Yorkshire person I could not miss this day! Not only is it a great excuse to whip up some Yorkie Puds! My go to recipe is here but I do do a little prep before hand.
I actually make the batter the night before and let it sit in the fridge so it is really cold! And for me, that really helps with the cooking process. There is nothing like a batch of fresh Yorkshire puddings! It can get even better if you are having a full Sunday lunch with them!
I love pizza! You can not have a bad day when pizza is on the menu! Obviously the biggest point of conversation is what are you going to have on your pizza! Are you going to have a classic Margherita, maybe a pepperoni (my personal fave), or is a four-cheese going to take your fancy?
The biggest arguments will come when someone suggests putting pineapple on their pizza! Now, I am a fan of this particular choice however understand that there are some people that with think I am a mad person for doing it. But the sweet and salty combination is so good!
The first day to have a sweet side to it. I am a fan of these things and even better if it is a bunch of Quality Streets! But if I could get a whole box of the big purple ones then I would be in heaven!
These are actually not that hard to make either you can find a recipe on the page as well. Or if you are popping out tot he shop you could always pick up some from your local supermarket.
I love almonds! It’s generally believed and agreed by historians (and food historians in particular) that almonds were one of the earliest cultivated foods by mankind. Almond Day celebrates this and all things almond, and rightly so, given their high vitamin E content, their effectiveness at reducing cholesterol levels and helping with weight loss!
Who can say now to a muffin! Whether you’re having the classic Chocolate muffin or make some of your own today is a great excuse to indulge!
I love making banana oat muffins. You know when you have forgotten about the banana’s and they have started to go a bit brown? Well, that is the perfect time to smash them with a fork add a bunch of raisins and oats and some cinnamon and start baking.
I don’t know about you but I think I might to pick a different theme for March to focus on!
