History of Biomedical Science Day
First founded in 2017, Biomedical Science Day was founded by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), with a desire for greater visibility and recognition of the profession in the UK – and now around the world.
The event was originally celebrated on June 19, which was chosen to coincide with the birthdate of the IBMS founder, Albert Norman.
Later, the event was then moved to earlier in the month and has been celebrated then ever since.
