Today is I Forgot Day, which is actually an opportunity to make up for having forgotten something, rather than an excuse to forget something.
This is excellent timing, as only last Friday the entire office forgot that it was the Managing Director’s birthday the following day, so whilst he was waiting for cake, backslaps and pound shop presents, we were all just waiting to get to the pub. And even when we arrived at the pub, we still forgot. Luckily John’s an understanding guy and there aren’t any P45s in the post (although you know how slow the Royal Mail can be sometimes).
So here’s another belated birthday wish to John (having sent him a text on the day) and a pledge to remember all future occasions, especially the extremely important ones, like weddings, funerals, and birthdays of people who have the power to sack me.
